Urbina Gran Reserva Especial 2001 is a limited edition library release of Rioja wine from Urbina Vinos. 2001 was one of Rioja’s greatest vintages and this is the first release of a gold label, limited edition wine from Urbina.

Dark ruby colour, middle layer with a thin mahogany trim. Complex nose, splendid maturity, mineral aromas, ripe fruit, figs, cherries and plums, tomato jam and dried apricots, cigar box, cherry blossom, harmonious and well-defined spicy hints of cinnamon, vanilla and clove. Some leather, snuff leaves and nutmeg. Musk, incense and kola nut. Base of toffee candy and balsamic notes, fresh and elegant. On the palate, harmonious and balanced oak and fruit tannins, great elegance and velvety softness, with a wonderful length that is appreciated.

Perfect with roasted lamb, wild mushroom risotto or aged Manchego.
